Information Security, Coop – Summer 2024 at Hootsuite Full Time

This Job is for Students pursuing a Career in Information Security or a related field.

Hootsuite would love to help Co-op students develop their technical skills and knowledge about people, processes, and technology by working with students over their Coop term. You’ll pair with a mentor and work remotely with a passionate, egoless team having fun building something bigger than themselves. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Work with mentors to learn practical knowledge on Information Security
• Participate in the compliance program management and learn about various information security frameworks
• Performing IT and operational testing to evaluate control effectiveness
• Conducting readiness assessments against NIST CSF/GDPR, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement controls, policies, and procedures as required
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to monitor and remediate control deficiencies against established deliverables and timelines
• Create detailed documentation to track the company’s compliance current and desired posture
• Build credibility with various stakeholders, through prompt responsiveness, collaborative and innovative thinking
• Evaluating and communicating control results, best practices, and risks to stakeholders
• Assisting with delivering information security, privacy, and risk training to applicable teams
• Monitoring compliance with current and emerging laws, regulations, and standard
• Work-out-loud by sharing your work and experiences internally and with our community

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Interest to learn and understand basic information security requirements (SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001/27002, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, and GDPR)
• Knowledge of information security best practices and agile software development cycle
• Possess basic knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure
