Report to the Director of Design Engineering, contributing to core marketing and expanding into new markets through design leadership and engineering partnership.
Gather requirements, plan, and ideate from project inception, demonstrating an understanding of user behavior, funnels, marketing channels, and mobile to fuel creative design.
Collaborate with designers and partners on design ideation, ensuring high-quality implementations.
Lead the technical roadmap for vercel.com and related sites, advocating for iterative improvements to browser performance, accessibility, and usability.
Act as a liaison between marketing and product, ensuring consistent experiences as visitors transition to customers of Vercel.
Mentor other designers and engineers and contribute to team growth and the elevation of design within the company.
Requirements:
At least 5+ years of development experience, with strong programming skills and experience in application development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in Next.js and Vercel, CMS platforms like Contentful, analytics platforms like Heap, and design tools like Figma.
Graphic design skills including layout, typography, color, and illustration.
Perfectionism with user experience, including polish, readability, accessibility, and performance.
Experience in or with Software as a Service (SaaS) companies and collaboration with marketing and design teams.
